For such a season as this: Exploring the seasons of manhood

Men,

This month, we are excited to embark on a transformative journey exploring the “Seasons of Manhood“. As the leaves change color and the air gets cooler, it reminds us that life, much like nature, has its own seasons worth exploring. Through this theme, we will delve into our own reflections, mistakes, and advice we wish we had received beyond our current season. At BPFM, we strongly believe that every man goes through the following seasons:

🌱 Spring (0-25): The Season of Discovery & Identity
Spring is a time of new beginnings, a season where buds bloom into flowers and possibilities seem endless. In the spring of manhood, we grapple with the essential questions of identity, relationships, and life purpose.

☀️ Summer (25-45): The Season of Flourishing & Challenges
In a man’s life, this period is often marked by career achievements, raising a family, and attaining a deeper self-awareness. It’s a time to reap the rewards of the seeds sown in spring, to live out our dreams, and to face our challenges head-on.

🍁 Autumn (45-65): The Season of Harvest & Mentorship
In this season of manhood, the focus shifts towards mentorship, building a legacy, and checking off items on our bucket list. It’s a time to share the wisdom we’ve gathered and to make lasting contributions to the world around us.

❄️ Winter (65+): The Season of Reflection
Winter is a season of quiet, a time when the world slows down to rest and rejuvenate. In the winter of a man’s life, the focus is on reflection, wisdom, and legacy. It’s a time to look back on the journey, to share stories and insights, and to prepare for the cycles of life to continue in those who come after us.

Here at BPFM, we’re fortunate to have a team that spans the diverse seasons of manhood. This unique blend of perspectives enriches our work and our lives, and this month, we’re excited to share that richness with you. Each week, we’ll feature reflections from men at different stages of life, offering their unique insights on the corresponding seasons of manhood.

Ecclesiastes reminds us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). The spring season of life is often a complex one, filled with the challenges and opportunities of discovering one’s identity.

Proverbs 10:5 offers a timely piece of wisdom: “He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.” This proverb underscores the importance of using the spring season as a time for preparation and skill-building, setting the stage for future success.

Navigating the big questions about careers, values, and relationships can be daunting. Mistakes will be made, but each one is a lesson, a seed planted for future growth. The key is to approach this season as a time for learning and self-discovery.
