💌 Everybody, Always: Becoming Love in a World Full of Setbacks and Difficult People

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy early Valentine’s Day!

As we conclude our exploration of 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, we focus on the profound instruction to “do everything in love,” a message that resonates deeply, especially this week.

Do everything in love. (1 Corinthians 16:14)

Bob Goff, in his inspiring book Everybody Always, shares a powerful insight:

“Jesus talked to His friends a lot about how we should identify ourselves. He said it wouldn’t be what we said we believed or all the good we hoped to do someday. Nope, He said we would identify ourselves simply by how we loved people. It’s tempting to think there is more to it, but there’s not. Love isn’t something we fall into; love is someone we become.”

Gentlemen, it’s easy to get caught up in the Valentine’s Day routine—buying flowers, planning romantic dinners—and to convince ourselves that these actions alone are the epitome of love. This week, I encourage you to reflect on how love can shape and define your identity, beyond just your actions. If you’re looking for examples of what this looks like practically, we strongly recommend you check out Bob’s book, its real, raw, and incredibly impactful.
