šŸ“š The Grateful Man’s Guide to Discipline

Get Yourself Together… No one said gratitude would be easy.

Who told us gratitude was supposed to be a walk in the park? Life is challenging, unfair, and often cruel. It’s easy to justify resentment, especially when the world seems to be against you. But let’s get one thing straightā€”Ā gratitude and courage aren’t just feelings;Ā they’re disciplines to be cultivated.

This November, our theme is “The GratefulĀ Man‘s Guide to Discipline“. Why? Because gratitude isn’t just about saying “thank you” when life is good; it’s about standing tall and being aĀ manĀ of God even when the chips are down. As we honor our veterans and celebrate Thanksgiving, let’s remember that true thankfulness is a roarā€”a courageous declaration that we recognize our blessings, even in the face of adversity. It’s a call to discipline, to cultivate a spirit of gratitude that empowers us to be betterĀ men, better leaders, and better warriors in the kingdom of God.

The James 1:2 Challenge:

ā€œConsider itĀ pure joy, myĀ brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.ā€

This isn’t a suggestion; it’s a call to arms. Life is a battlefield, and gratitude is your weapon. Don’t just wait for it to happen; fight for it.

Recently my girlfriend and I have noticed the enemy trying to distract usĀ fromĀ the beauty of our circumstances. We all have our strugglesā€”balancing careers, finances, relationships, and personal growth. It’s exhausting, but let’s not forget the blessings amidst the chaos. I’ve found purpose and mentorship atĀ BlueprintĀ forĀ Men, and many of you have your own lights in the darkness. Recognize them, cherish them.

Miracles Are Everywhere:

We are so blind sometimes… Let’s not overlook the everyday miraclesā€”the people who, despite their suffering, make our lives a bit easier. The guy who ensures your electricity runs, and the woman who serves your morning coffee (or non-caffeinated beverage) ā€”they’re heroes in their own right. Sure, life may beat you to a pulp, but even so, can you honestly say there’s a better response to life’s challenges than gratitude?

Your Secret Weapon:

Okay great, cultivating gratitude is awesome, but what is an actionable strategy?Ā The secret is revealed inĀ John 16:24

Ā “Until now you have not asked for anythingĀ in my name. Ask and you will receive,Ā and your joy will be complete.

If we ask for something in the name of Jesus he promises to answer us if we have the right motives. AskĀ HimĀ to open your eyes to see and mouth to praiseĀ HimĀ for His blessings in the midst of your suffering. AskĀ HimĀ to reveal how he is transforming you into a betterĀ man. AskĀ HimĀ for His gifts so you can give further to those around you.

Call To Action:

Let’s challenge ourselves to be betterĀ menĀ by recognizing the miracles around us and giving back in any way we can. Because, in the end, gratitude isn’t just about you; it’s about enriching the world around you.

Here’s to Building Together withĀ Him!
