Gentlemen,

As we conclude our walk through the study of freedom we see that we have progressed through the following sequence…

• Freedom IN Christ

• Freedom FROM bondage

• Freedom TO do God’s will

And now we are ready for our fourth and final step which is to use our freedom FOR the ultimate purpose of giving glory to God. The illustration below gives a snapshot of all four dimensions.

As we unpack this truth I will be featuring an interview with Chaplain Jorge Torres and his essay about this aspect of freedom. I pray that you will listen, read, think, and take action.

The Ultimate Purpose of Freedom

In today’s world, freedom is often misunderstood as the ability to do whatever we want. But true freedom, as described in the Bible, is about living for the glory of God. As Christian men, our God-given freedom calls us to honor Him in all we do. This is our ultimate purpose.

Understanding True Freedom

Galatians 5:1 says, “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.”

Romans 6:22 reminds us, “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.”
