Let’s kick off this morning with a thought-stirring question: “What’s the quintessential trait of a leader?” Simon Sinek, the mastermind behind one of the most celebrated TED Talks, was recently asked this. His answer might surprise you. (Here’s the video if you’re curious – 2 min)
He asserts that the bedrock of leadership isn’t found in charisma or vision but in courage. It’s about stepping up to lead amidst a sea of overwhelming tasks, navigating through tough relationships, or steering the ship when finances hit rough waters. Intriguingly, as we’ve explored, some biblical translations equate courage with the phrase “Act like men.”
“Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)
This week’s video is a deep dive into this idea, drawing a stark line between the maturity of men and the immaturity of boys in leadership. It’s a perspective shift that’s both enlightening and empowering.
So, grab some breakfast, and let’s challenge ourselves with this concept. Until next week, stay courageous in your journey of leadership!
