SUMMARY:Ministry Leadership Expedition
DESCRIPTION:Greetings Ministry Leader\,\nLong ago John Muir proclaimed… “The mountains are calling\, and I must go.”  And while I wholeheartedly agree with Muir\, I more deeply sense that we are all responding to the “Still Small Voice”\, the heart of God calling us upward to high places\, or in this case downward to low places! \nThrough the wilderness Moses\, Elijah\, and Jesus were taught and tested by God so it is only natural that we as ministry leaders should journey into the wilderness to see what he might be wanting to teach us! \nThe Ministry Leadership Expedition is an immersive wilderness experience for ministry leaders that is designed to stretch the mind\, elevate the spirit\, strengthen the heart\, challenge the body\, and rest the soul.  Participants should anticipate the physical challenges of backcountry travel with a group of up to a dozen individuals into a remote wilderness setting in the Grand Canyon where ministry leadership skills will be taught\, demonstrated\, and applied through outdoor skills and experiences. \n\nEXPEDITION OVERVIEW: \nThe basic details of this expedition are listed below. For complete details download the Expedition Planner. \n\nDATE: \n\nMay 20-29\, 2022\n\n\nCOST: \n\n$700 total ($200 deposit due Mar 27)\n\n\nINCLUDED: \n\nRound-trip transportation from Phoenix\, AZ to the Grand Canyon\nFront-country lodging\, shared meals\, specialized shared equipment\nLeadership training\, curriculum\, and backcountry guiding\n\n\nYOUR RESPONSIBILITY: \n\nPhysical conditioning\nCamping equipment\nTravel to Phoenix\, AZ\nPre-trip course preparation\n\n\nAPPLICATION: \n\nMar 27\, 2022\, deadline\nSpace is limited to 8.\nComplete and submit the online forms and pay your deposit\n\n\nCOMPLETE INFORMATION: \n\nThe following information packet contains the essential details for your participation in the Ministry Leadership Expedition. \nINFORMATION PACKET\nIf God is calling you to join us simply fill out the application and make your deposit to hold your spot. \nIf you have any questions please reach out any time. Thanks! \n\nPREPARATION TIMELINE: \n\nAfter you are accepted to the expedition follow the preparation timeline below. \n\n\nNow         Register for the Expedition\nNow         Start exercising and acquiring gear\nMar 27     Sign-up deadline\nMar 31      Zoom Call #1 from 7-8 pm ET\nApr 12       Zoom Call #2 from 7-8 pm ET\nApr 26      Zoom Call #3 from 7-8 pm ET\nMay 10      Zoom Call #4 from 7-8 pm ET\nMay 20     Begin the Adventure\n\n\nEXPEDITION LEADERSHIP: \n\n \nMarty Miller\, M.S. Ed \nMarty is a veteran educator\, outdoor professional\, and a leader of men.  He is the founder and president of Blueprint for Men that provides this experience for you as a ministry leader.  Marty is gifted at discovering and sharing spiritual lessons from nature and has skills and certifications ranging from Wilderness First Responder to Leave No Trace Master Educator. Marty and his wife\, Gale\, are the proud parents of two adult children and four grandchildren. Life is good! \n  \nDoug Brown\, Ph.D. \nOver the years Doug has filled roles that range from church pastor to camp director. Currently he serves as Outdoor Leadership professor at Southern Adventist University. Doug is an outdoor expert that has skills and certifications including WMI/NOLS Wilderness First Responder\, ACA Swift Water Rescue\, AMGA Single Pitch Rock Instructor\, and AIARE Avalanche Safety. He and his wife Twila have two adult children.  Life is good! \n  \n\nEXPEDITION OBJECTIVES: \n\nStretch the Mind \nUsing outdoor leadership methods “real world” leadership will be taught and demonstrated. And while in this spectacular wilderness setting you will learn the basics about the Grand Canyon ecology and geology that we will photograph and study. \nElevate the Spirit \nAs we experience the beauty of nature our hearts and thoughts are lifted heavenward.  Through a careful study of the majestic canyons and the delicate flowers we will discover spiritual truths in the “Book of Nature” that will overflow into worship and praise of our Creator God. \nWarm the Heart \nDuring our week together our hearts will bond as we eat together\, tent together\, hike together\, and worship together.  We will become almost like family!  These authentic relationships built on the trail and around camp with other ministry leaders will warm the heart with an unmistakable agape love. \nChallenge the Body \nThere’s nothing like being physically exhausted after a full day of hiking on a trail or paddling on a river.  You feel like you’ve reached your limit and can’t go on… totally spent.  And yet\, it’s at these times that you feel more alive than any day back at the office.  It’s as if your body is screaming and your soul is smiling!  During your time in the backcountry\, you will develop skills that will allow you to traverse this rugged and hostile environment safely. \nRest the Soul \nLet’s face it… you’re tired\, maybe even exhausted\, down to the bottom of your soul.  Now\, imagine a week away from your electronics and schedule in a wilderness setting… and imagine how restful that would be to your soul!  To ensure that you will truly find rest for your soul you will learn skills to keep yourself safe in the rugged environment while at the same time protecting the delicate desert ecosystem through the practice of Leave No Trace backcountry skills. \nExtend the Experience \nThe goal of the Ministry Leadership Expedition is to reboot your life and retool your ministry!  But the real challenge is when you return to the valley where the pressures of life become a reality again.  Transferring knowledge and skills from a wilderness setting to a church setting is not an easy task but will be a major focus of our effort.  And even more importantly to experience “Soul Care” on a regular basis back home. \n\nIf God is calling you to join us then complete the three steps below to register\, complete forms\, and sign-up for our group communication app. \nThis is going to be an unforgetable experience in one of the most iconic landscapes in America.  Don’t miss out! \n\nSTEP 1: REGISTER BY MARCH 27\nREGISTER HERE\n\nSTEP 2: COMPLETE REQUIRED FORMS\nREQUIRED FORMS\n\nSTEP 3: SIGN-UP FOR OUR GROUP APP\nGROUP COMMUNICATION\n\nIf you have any questions or concerns please feel free to text or call me. \nHere’s to Living THE Adventure!  \nMarty Miller\n423.322.8491 \n

SUMMARY:Iron Works Men's Summit
DESCRIPTION:GREETINGS BROTHERS\,\nThe Kentucky-Tennessee Conference and Blueprint for Men have teamed-up to provide you with the Iron Works Men’s Summit\, a man-building weekend that will be held at Indian Creek Camp on the weekend of March 31-April 2\, 2023. \n“The Iron Works” serves as a metaphor and a framework for the weekend.  From the crush of the mine to the finishing grind\, it’s a process that every man goes through in life.  And while no stage is comfortable the end product is worth it all\, a sharp tool in the hand of God! \n\nNo discipline seems pleasant at the time\, but painful. Later on\, however\, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.  – Hebrews 12:11\n\nIf you would like become a sharper tool in the hand of God\, check out the details below and consider attending this unforgetable weekend. \nHere’s to Building Better Men\, \nMarty Miller \nBlueprint for Men\, Founder | President \n\n\nWEEKEND SCHEDULE                     \nFriday \n\n4:00                 Retreat Check-In Begins\n6:00                 Supper\n7:00                 General Session #1 – The Mine\n8:30                 Evening Activities\n\nSabbath \n\n6:00                 Prayer and Praise Walk\n8:00                 Breakfast\n9:00                 General Session #2 – The Crucible\n9:30                 Seminar Options\n11:00               General Session #3 – The Forge\n12:30               Lunch\n1:30                 Afternoon Activity Options\n4:00                General Session #4 – The Grind\n5:30                 Supper\n6:30                 General Session #5 – The Test\n8:00                 Evening Activities\n\nSunday \n\n6:30                 Prayer Walk\n8:00                 Breakfast\n9:00                 General Session #6 – Sharp Tools in the Hand of God\n\n\nWHAT TO BRING\n\nBible\nWalking Shoes\nCasual Clothes\nFlashlight\nUmbrella\nCamp Chair\nSleeping Bag or…\nLinens for twin bed\nPillow\nToiletries\nCell Phone/Charger\nEar plugs to mute snoring men!\n\n\nREGISTRATION\nEvent registration includes: \n\n5 meals\, Friday supper through Sunday breakfast\nCabin lodging for 2-nights\nProgram and training materials\nBag of SWAG (stuff we all get)\nOutdoor recreation equipment\n\nRegistration Options: \n\nEarly Registration by Feb 28\n\nCamper Cabin bunk is $130\nCamper Cabin queen is $150\nGuest Room queen is $170\n\n\nRegular Registration after Feb 28\n\nCamper Cabin bunk is $150\nCamper Cabin queen is $170\nGuest Room queen is $190\n\n\n\nRegistration deadline is March 24\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\nREGISTRATION QUESTIONS?\n\nKyle Neuroh\nneuroh@me.com\n931-922-1262\n\n\nKEYNOTE SPEAKERS\n \nMarty Miller \nMarty is a veteran educator\, outdoor professional\, and a leader of men.  He is the founder and president of Blueprint for Men which provides men’s ministry leadership for the Southern Union and beyond.  Over the years Marty has enjoyed outdoor pursuits ranging from scuba diving to alpine mountaineering. During this time\, millions of innocent youth were deported to remote areas to face life sentences of poverty and hard labor. He had to play the Chinese violin (“erhu”) and learn to dance in order to try to escape a life in labor camps. He eventually made his way to America with only $50. Following\, he graduated with the highest honors from Harvard Medical School and MIT. \nDr. Wang’s autobiography\, From Darkness to Sight\, is an inspirational story of how one man turned fear\, poverty\, persecution\, and prejudice into healing and love for others. It demonstrates how focus\, determination\, humility\, and profound faith can inspire a life that\, in turn\, impacts the lives of countless others. The book has inspired an upcoming movie called “Sight”. Dr. Wang’s story has also inspired a movie role in the film “God’s Not Dead”. \n\nPROMOTIONAL MATERIALS\nIf you are a men’s ministry or church leader please use the following digital files to promote this event at your church. This will be a hands-on man-building weekend designed to inspire and equip you to become the man God calls you to be! \nFor we are his workmanship\, created in Christ Jesus for good works\, which God prepared beforehand\, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 \nThe Building Metaphor \nMost of us guys like to work with our hands\, to build things\, to repair things\, and to get things done. It’s so satifying!  Most of us can do simple home projects and repairs with coaching from YouTube or a friend while a few of us have the skills to do major renovations or even build a complete house. Whatever your skillset may be\, every project involves an investment of time\, money\, skills\, tools\, and materials.  It’s a process that starts with a vision and a plan for how to get the job done… it’s a lot like life! \nWhat’s Your Plan? \nSo\, what’s your plan for building the life that God is calling you to live? Do you have a vision? Do you have a plan? Do you have the tools? Unfortunately for most men the answer to these questions is anything but a solid YES. Most of us men have never been shown how to develop a comprehensive and cohesive plan for life based on biblical principles. That’s what this weekend is all about… developing your own personalized “Blueprint for Life”. \n \nCreating Your Blueprint \nDuring the weekend you will be introduced to the Blueprint System that will help you create your own “Blueprint for Life”.  We will address the four areas of life that are necessary for building strong men of God. These areas are your 1) Internal Strength\, 2) Relational Strength\, 3) Working Strength\, and 4)Resource Strength. By the end of the weekend you will have a good start on your personal blueprint\, some new tools\, and a team of men to help you with the heavy lifting in the days that follow. \n \nJoin Us at the Men Under Construction Retreat \nTo discover more about attending this powerful weekend check out the details below. We encourage you to invite a friend or two\, or a whole construction crew\, as we build together with God.  Hope to see you there! \nHere’s to Building Together with God\,\n  \nYour Retreat Leadership Team\nMarty Miller\, Event Director \nTom Pyke\,  Event Registration \nRick Patton\, Event Activities \nBrandon Bell\, Event Promotions \n\nWEEKEND SCHEDULE:                     \nFriday \n\n4:00    Retreat Check-In Begins\n6:00    Supper\n7:00    Session One\n9:00    Evening Activities\n\nSabbath \n\n6:30     Prayer and Praise Walk\n7:30     Breakfast\n9:00     Session Two\n11:00    Session Three\n12:30    Lunch\n1:30      Break Out Sessions/Free Time\n4:00      Session Four\n5:30      Supper\n7:00      Sundown Vespers\n8:30      Evening Activities\n\nSunday \n\n6:30    Prayer and Praise Walk\n7:30    Breakfast\n9:00    Circle of Men\n11:00   Farewell\n\n \n\nMAIN SPEAKER\n \nMarty Miller \nMarty is a veteran educator\, outdoor professional\, and a leader of men.  He is the founder and president of Blueprint for Men which provides men’s ministry leadership for the Southern Union and beyond.  Over the years Marty has enjoyed outdoor pursuits ranging from scuba diving to alpine mountaineering. SUMMARY:Daddy-Daughter Priceless Treasure Adventure
DESCRIPTION:Dear Dad\, \nMost fathers find that relationships with their sons comes much more naturally than their relationships with their daughters.  But\, developing a deep and meaningful relationship with your daughter\, while often challenging\, is much more important than you may realize\, and well worth the effort.  Research reveals that girls who have meaningful relationships with their fathers have higher grades\, deeper spiritual commitment\, higher self-esteem\, and significantly lower chance of engaging in at-risk-behaviors. \nFathers who see their daughters as “Priceless Treasures”\, gifts from God\, will raise daughters that have a greater chance of success in life! \nThe “Daddy-Daughter Priceless Treasure Adventure” is designed to strengthen the bonds between you and your daughter(s) through outdoor adventure\, nature study\, group activities\, music and worship.  The cost of the retreat is only $100 per father… daughters are free! Camp fees\, program materials\, and souvenirs are all included.  An incredible value! \nOur destination for this trip is the Laurel Snow State Natural Area.  It is my favorite “Pocket Wilderness” in the Chattanooga area and has been for decades. As a young man I remember hiking and camping in the Richland Creek Canyon with my friends. The waterfalls\, cliffs\, and massive boulders are imposing and unforgettable.  If the weather is warm\, we may even take a dive into one of the deep swimming holes! \nTo attend this retreat study the information in the pages that follow and complete/submit the registration\, consent\, and health forms as directed.  Don’t miss this opportunity\, seize the moment… your daughter will thank you; I promise! \nHere’s to Strengthening Men and their Families\, \nMarty Miller\n“Priceless Treasure Adventure” Trip Leader \n  \n\nEVENT OVERVIEW:\n\n\nWHO:  Fathers and daughters (ages 6+)\nWHAT: Backpacking Trip\nWHERE:  Laurel-Snow State Natural Area\nWHEN:  April 19-21\, 2024\nWHY: Your Daughter is a Priceless Treasure!\nCOST:  $100/father… daughters are free!\nBRING:  Camping equipment and food\nREGISTRATION DEADLINE: April 12\, 2024\nPRETRIP MEETING: Mon\, April 8 at 7:00 pm\nQUESTIONS: Contact Marty Miller at 423-322-8491\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\nINFORMATION PACKET

Lot’s of smiles! \n \n \nEMAIL RECAP\nHere’s the email sent out to all the guys that attended last year’s retreat. It gives you a good idea of what happened last year and what to expect this year. \n\nGentlemen\, \nThank you so much for joining us at the Men Under Construction Retreat this past weekend.  What a powerful experience that was!  As I look back on the weekend\, I thought I would share with you what I believe made this event so outstanding and also challenge each one of you to take several steps toward becoming the man God designed you to be. \nThe Making of a Powerful Retreat \n\nThe Outpouring of the Holy Spirit Power\n\nI have attended many outstanding men’s retreats over the years\, but I truly believe that this year was the best ever because the Holy Spirit was poured out at another level. The Sabbath afternoon baptisms were the high point of the weekend. Grant Graves called men to take a stand\, to be ALL IN\, and 10 men took a stand for rebaptism. Dave Ketelsen shared a message that brought it all home with a good dose of humor and then we headed down to the lakeside where we cheered and sang praises to our good God. Powerful! \n \nThe men that were baptized included Gary Green\, Rudy Escobar\, Roberto Enfante\, Andrew Gonzales\, Josh Galbraith\, Jake Mertz\, David Adams\, Xaver Pinero\, Spencer Hoernes\, and Greg Leavitt. Those performing the baptism included Dave Ketelsen\, Doug Brown\, Grant Graves\, and Dean Reed. \n\nThe Energy of Younger Men\n\nBecause we had an increase in the number of younger men at the event\, we had a higher level of energy and enthusiasm. I know that life is especially hectic for those of you from 25-45 so I commend you for taking the time and pray that the experience challenges you to take action in your life in the areas that need it the most. \n \n\nThe Spectacular Fall Weather\n\nCohutta Springs is always a beautiful place but this weekend the sky\, trees\, water\, and land were really showing off God’s glory in a spectacular way. The cool weather and breezy conditions were invigorating to my soul! \n \n\nInspirational Music and Testimonies\n\nThe music this year was the most inspiring ever. There is nothing like hearing deep masculine voices belting out praises to God and “Builder of Men”\, by Tag Garmon\, was perfect for bringing out the best in all of us. And the testimonies by Tag\, Jim Moon\, and many other men brought raw authenticity. \n \n\nChallenging Messages and the Blueprint System Launch\n\nIn past events I have not had a major speaking part but this weekend I felt compelled to share with you the beginning of what will be the Blueprint System.  Even though we didn’t spend much time covering this content I think that there is enough for you to craft your own blueprint in the days ahead. Share your plan with another man and get building. I need your feedback too! More details will be coming soon! \n \nHere’s a link to the presentation I gave about Men’s Discipleship that you can see in full detail. (This is Module 5 of the Men’s Ministry Leadership Course) \nNext Steps… Moving Forward!\nThe main reason that I’m sending you this email is to encourage you to get plugged into resources and groups that will help you grow as a godly man in the days ahead. Here’s what I recommend… \nStep #1 – Start Reading Our Weekly Email \nJust by attending this retreat you will begin to receive our weekly email. Check your inbox every Thursday morning. Brandon Bell and I work to provide you with a regular source of inspiration and information about how to lead and succeed in every area of life. Many links in our email lead to our Blueprint for Men website where you will find upcoming events and an increasing number of resources. \nStep #2 – Start Listening to Our Weekly Podcast \nEvery week Grant Graves creates our Blueprint for Men Podcast filled with stories\, challenging messages\, interviews\, and more. They are only 14 minutes long so can be enjoyed during your commute. Most of the messages are appropriate and interesting for your children as well. \nStep #3 – Get Access to RightNow Media \nAs a retreat attendee you have been given access to RightNow Media\, a video streaming service that provides Christian content for men\, women\, youth\, marriage\, finances\, etc. You can download the RNM app and listen/watch content anywhere on your mobile device. Not only is this a tremendous resource for you and your family\, but it also provides you with much of the content for our men’s groups all for FREE. Look for an email from RightNow Media that will direct you on how to get your account set up. \nStep #4 – Get Connected… Join or Start a Men’s Discipleship Group\nYour journey ahead will be challenging but if you are walking with God\, and have a godly band of brothers\, you will succeed. Please consider joining an online group today… or start your own! Here are some options for you to consider. \n\nVisit our SmallGroups webpage to discover all of the groups we offer.\nSchedule a call with our small group coordinator\, Tom Pyke\, if you need guidance.\nJoin our VIRDUX (Leading Men) virtual group every Sabbath from 7:30-9:00 am ET.\nOrder a Morning Summit book. This 13-week habit building program is designed for groups.\nOrder a Coaching Champions workbook and start coaching or mentoring a younger man.\n\nStep #5 – Your Pornography Addiction… Deal with it NOW! \nMost men receiving this email are struggling with sexual sin\, especially in the area of pornography. SUMMARY:AHA CPR Course
DESCRIPTION:Date:  Monday\, March 23\, 2026 \nTime:  4:00 – 9:00 pm ET \nLocation:   Blueprint for Men\, 5050 Layton Lane\, Apison\, TN 37302 \nCost:  $30 \nREGISTER\nBasic life support (BLS) for healthcare providers For all healthcare providers Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association certification training is vital. In the U.S.\, there is a mandated American Heart Association (AHA) protocol for the immediate treatment of critical events that must be closely followed by all healthcare providers. \nAcquiring the American Heart Association BLS CPR certification is the responsibility of all healthcare providers that are providing medical care to the general public\, and with frequent changes being made to the AHA guidelines\, BLS renewal is also mandatory and required every two years. \nRecommended for: MDs\, RNs\, EMTs\, Dentists\, Pharmacists\, and Medical Personnel \nThe BLS CPR class covers: \n\nAdult\, Child\, and Infant CPR\nConscious and Unconscious Choking for victims of all ages\nAutomated External Defibrillator (AED) use and special considerations\nBreathing Barriers\, Bag Valve Masks\, and 2 Rescuer CPR\nCardiopulmonary Emergencies and Special Resuscitation Situations\n\nYour Instructor: \nJeremiah Curda has over 15 years of 911 EMS experience including\, ground transport\, critical care transport and flight paramedic for a major trauma center.  Jeremiah holds an A.A.S. in Emergency Medical Services. \n\nAHA Legal Position\nAmerican Heart Association staff members do not give personal medical advice or answer personal medical questions. \nQualified staff members in the Office of Science Operations at our National Center can answer scientific questions. National Center\, affiliate and division staff are allowed to offer the Association’s official policy or statement about a given medical issue. \nThe Association cannot make referrals to physicians\, cardiac surgeons\, nurses\, physicians assistants\, nutritionists\, physical therapists or occupational therapists. We can’t maintain current information on whether such persons meet professional criteria across the wide variety of medical disciplines and geographic regions. Nor can we know enough about an individual’s medical history\, healthcare needs\, financial or insurance situation to make proper referrals. You can get such information from your local medical association or society. \nOur association does not provide recommendations to individuals seeking healthcare sites\, health maintenance organizations\, hospitals\, clinics or cardiac rehabilitation centers. We can’t maintain current information on whether such places around the country meet accepted medical standards. Nor can we know enough about an individual’s personal medical history\, healthcare needs\, financial or insurance situation to make proper referrals. You can get such information from your local health department or medical association or society. \nThe AHA does not set protocols for health care organizations. We can only provide our Scientific Statements and Guidelines as a point of reference. Because the AHA is not a regulatory agency nor a clinical provider\, the Association cannot govern what procedures health care facility staff should follow\, including during emergency situations. Most hospitals\, EMS\, and other health care organizations have a committee\, e.g.\, a critical care committee\, that should advise them on protocols. Many providers also have accrediting organizations that conduct inspections of facilities to ensure compliance. \nThe AHA cannot address complaints about health care practitioners or institutions. If you seek assistance regarding care received\, please contact that clinical care provider directly. Generally\, most practices and facilities have a patient advocate or ombudsman dedicated to handling complaints\, in the best position to resolve your issue. You can also contact the local licensing board of the practitioner or institution. \nWe also do not provide testimony or legal opinions to litigants in medical malpractice cases.
